College For Me

Supporting Employees

If you have employees enrolled in higher education, you can support them by providing on-site resources:

  • Allow employees to use computers/other resources to complete coursework
  • Establish employee-to-employee mentoring/goal setting on attaining higher education
  • Link employees to resources available from outside sources/agencies:
  • Show employees how they can finance/save for education through College Savings Accounts, including:
  • Create flexible scheduling opportunities to fit school schedule into work schedule
  • Tax Credits for college costs
  • Scholarships
  • Actively help employees seek scholarships and financial aid by booking College for ME-Androscoggin’s PAL for a workshop
  • Reimburse tuition costs and/or books and/or other incurred expenses
  • Learn while you earn – pay for employees tuition, when they are hired; employee then pays back costs through long-term payroll deduction
  • Host classes on-site for employees
  • Apply unused earned-time off to costs of college/professional certification
  • Participate in C4ME-A Employer-to-Employer Support Workshops
  • Adopt an education and training support policy (for your current and prospective employees!)
